Total E&P Bulgaria signed a framework cooperation agreement with Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy

Total E&P Bulgaria signed a framework cooperation agreement with Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy last week at a ceremony held in Varna. It will serve as a platform for long-term and strategic cooperation in education, research and innovation.  Main objectives of the agreement are to promote within Bulgarian students and specialists modern technologies, best practices of offshore industry and the corresponding health, safety and environment standards, as well as to elaborate research programmes and academic content related to hydrocarbon Exploration & Production activities.

“At Total we consider that enhancing professional education is important for Bulgaria’s economic future.  After 4 years of successful partnership with Sofia University and with the University of Mining and Geology, we are happy to have a new academic partner from the Black Sea region”, said Xavier Faugeras, General Manager of Total E&P Bulgaria. Together with Flotilla Admiral Prof. DSc. Boyan Mednikarov, Commandant of NVNA, he visited laboratories and navigation simulators of the Academy.

Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy is the oldest technical educational institution in the Republic of Bulgaria with a history of 136 years and numerous present achievements. Its mission is to develop highly qualified leaders for the Bulgarian Navy and the maritime industry; to prepare them for the challenges of the transforming Navy and the rapidly changing sector of the global maritime economy.
