Our ambition: Be a Major Player in the Energy Transition
TotalEnergies puts sustainable development in all its dimensions at the heart of its projects and operations to contribute to the well-being of people.
We have been present in Bulgaria since 2007 when AS 24 Bulgaria was created to promote the AS 24 fuel card offer dedicated to international transport companies.
In 2008, we created Total Bulgaria EOOD to develop the distribution of lubricants in Bulgaria. Since then, Total and Elf brands have gained high visibility and a reputation in the country not only for owners of cars, motorcycles, trucks, earthmovers or tractors, but also in various industries, from metalworking and textiles to mining and food production.
Since July 2012, Total – in partnership with Repsol and OMV – has held a permit for the prospecting and exploration of oil and gas in Block 1-21 Han Asparuh, in the deep offshore part of the Black Sea. Total E&P Bulgaria has been the operator of the Block since April 2014 and is responsible for drilling the exploration wells. In this project Total brings its worldwide recognised expertise in deep sea technology, project management and reservoir development and its highest Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.
Total E&P Bulgaria opened its office in Sofia in 2014. Since then it has been working to develop and maintain a trusted relationship with all stakeholders, including the government, NGOs and the business and academic communities.
OMV Offshore Bulgaria is 100% held by OMV Petrom, following a transaction closed in August 2020. Thus, OMV Petrom’s share in the exploration Block Han Asparuh, via OMV Offshore Bulgaria GmbH, is 42.86%.
OMV Petrom is the largest energy company in South-Eastern Europe.
The company is active on every aspect of the energy value chain: from wells, producing oil and gas, to refining and fuels distribution, gas supply and power generation & supply.
